Welcome!
Hello and welcome to KINDERGARTEN :) My name is Kim Gabriel and I am thrilled to be teaching at TCS! First, I would like to share a little bit about myself.
I was born and raised in Chicago, Illinois. A part of my heart will always be in there (but NO I do not miss the snow and cold one bit!). From an early age I knew that I wanted to be a teacher! In 2015 I graduated from Asbury University with a degree in both Elementary Education (K-6) and Spanish Education (K-12). Part of my teaching experiences at Asbury included teaching 1st grade at an international school in Quito, Ecuador for a few months. I moved down to Florida in the Spring of 2016 and taught 4th grade reading and writing in West Palm Beach as an interim teacher this past year.
When I’m not teaching or planning lessons, I also have many other interest and passions. In my free time I enjoy shopping and going to the beach with a good book. Other times I can be found watching endless episodes of House Hunters or Property Brothers on HGTV.
Another large part of my life is training and racing for different athletic events. As a kid I played EVERY sport possible: gymnastics, tennis, volleyball, basketball, and softball. In high school I was on the swim and badminton teams. During my time at Asbury University I continued my swimming career and started doing triathlons. Currently I have been racing in triathlons as well as marathons-and most recently competed in the Boston Marathon in April of 2017.

When it comes to teaching, I view my role to be the facilitator, and as a facilitator I am also a learner. I am continuously learning from my students, parents, other facilitators, and administrators.
In order to create a positive learning environment, I have high expectations for each and every student with the belief that all are capable of great success and achievement. Each student as a unique individual with different gifts, talents, and abilities. Students are encouraged to be active participants in their education, and I strive to come along side each student to serve as a guide in this process.
I look forward to getting to know you and your child this year. Please feel free to contact me at any time with questions or concerns! My email and twitter account are linked on the righthand side of this web page (see icons).
